Author’s interview

Question 1: Pitch your books to us (maximum of 100 words).  

Reset is a satirical comical novel set in a dystopian utopian woke near-future which follows a group of disparate people from across the globe as they try to negotiate life in a world that no longer makes any sense.

The novel also includes a series of original illustrations, also created by myself.

Question 2: What inspired you to write your book?  

The increase in censorship, fear of not offending people and the rise in ‘woke’ culture inspired me to write my book as these particular topical issues are ripe for satire…

Question 3: Who is your book for? 

My book is for anyone who believes in free speech and appreciates good humour. It also provides an insight, or beginner’s guide, into ‘woke’ culture and the potential repercussions it could have, and is having, on modern society.

Question 4: What do you hope the book will achieve?

I hope that the book will encourage other people to use their voices to speak out or write about whatever they are passionate about, without worrying about what other people think of them. I am a strong advocate for free speech and I believe that everyone has the right to express themselves.

Question 6: Are you a first time author or have you written other books you want to tell us about?  

First time author

Question 7: Who is/are your favourite authors of all time? 

John Steinbeck is my favourite author- he has a unique writing style through his use of social commentary and his technique allows the reader to visualise the situations and characters he describes in a way which is similar to screen/play writing and completely immerses you in the experience.

Question 8: Writing a book is a significant achievement. Do you have any tips for people who may want to write a book?

Pick up a pen and start writing! Garnering enough motivation and actually getting started is the hardest hurdle to overcome but once you start creating your characters, they will develop their own personalities and it will become easier to write.

Don’t let anyone or anything hold you back, just do it!  

Question 9: Are you working on another project people should look out for in the future?   

Yes, I am currently working on a sequel to “Reset,” the new book will be called “Resist.”
