In the last 24 hours, the social media place has been agog by the news of the social media influencer arrested in Dubai late yesterday. For those who are regular on Nigeria social media especially Instagram, Hushpuppi is a popular lavish lifestyle influencer.
His Instagram feed is usually full of flashy expensive cars, and other trappings of luxury lifestyle.
It was confirmed yesterday that Hushpuppi and some of his friends and colleagues were arrested in Dubai late yesterday. According to a source, Hushpuppi was arrested for embezzling $35 million, purpose to have been given to Native American Indians during the Covid-19 pandemic.
There have been so many arguments on whether the popular lifestyle influencer will be acquitted of the arrest. One will recall that some months ago, a similar raid by the FBI was made on another Nigerian billionaire Mompha who was arrested for money laundering but later discharged after the case was transferred to the economic-financial crime commission.
Raymond Igbalodely popular known as “Hushpuppi” was born in Lagos. Is got his nickname “Hushpuppi” from a popular shoe brand that is located in London. Some have also said that the nickname Hushpuppy was has a trace of Raymond popular slogan “Aja 4”
Just like Mompha was lucky enough to scale through his previous arrest. Will Hushpuppi be lucky enough to get this cup pass him? I think that is a question that’s left for time to answer.
