While economic activities and social life is gradually going back to normal in the country, COVID-19 cases in Nigeria have risen by 416, based on the new figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday night.

This alarming figure is the second-highest daily toll recorded by NCDC since the first case of the pandemic was confirmed on February 27, 2020. The highest daily toll had been confirmed on June 8 2020. 553 cases.

Lagos continues to record the highest number of cases with about 192 new cases on Monday with nine deaths.

Updates released by NCDC express that 12 deaths were recorded nationally and the number of facilities has increased from 287 to 299, while recoveries rose from 3,007 to 3,122.

In total, about 10,578 cases have been confirmed in 35 states and the FCT.
In all 20 states had positive test results on Monday.
