Oleku is a classic Yoruba romance and drama movie, based on the novel adaptation of Prof. Akinwunmi Ishola’s novel base “Oleku” which translates to “This is serious”. It was directed by a well respected director in the Nollywood industry Tunde Kelani
This movie set in the 1970’s , evolved the modern Yoruba culture which surprisingly lured the Nigerian youths back to valuing the Nigerian Yoruba tradition and adopting it to their modern ways of life especially the Yoruba fashion mode.
The story line surrounds the life of Ajani and final year student of University of Ibadan who is looking for a serious relationship despite already having a girlfriend Asake.
His insatiable quest for a serious relationship lands him in the middle of triple chaos as he gets involved with 3 different women; Lola a very beautiful first year student whom he met in the university and Shade who is a childhood friend and happened to get involved in the love drama as the story goes on.
A movie that will make viewers proud of their heritage and the African culture. A story told and a lesson learned .
