Ola Olukoyede’s appointment to the position of executive head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was ratified by the Senate on Wednesday.

Following his examination by the “committee of the whole,” he was confirmed.

It was also confirmed that Muhammad Hammajoda will serve as the EFCC secretary and Halima Shehu will lead the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA) as CEO.

According to Ripples Nigeria, Olukoyede’s appointment occurred over four months after President Tinubu had suspended the previous Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

It should be remembered that Nigerians responded differently to Olukoyede’s appointment, with many protesting and arguing that he was unfit for the position.

Additionally, according to Ripples Nigeria, a civil society organization challenged his appointment at the National Assembly on Tuesday and sent a letter of protest to the Senate.
